San Diego - Beach!

So basically while in San Diego, this is how it went day by day....Sea World, Beach, Sea World, Beach, Sea World.  Then we drove home and stopped half way in Vegas but I only have one picture of that.  But here are all our beach pics.  We had a lot of fun on the beach, although it was a little chilly for "swimming".  We took boogie boards and tubs, but the kids weren't overly willing to get wet above their waists.  I don't blame them.  The water was refreshingly cold.
Crazy face.

She is....strange.  I love her little bikini.  It would often slide up on top and not cover her little you know whats.  This was the last outing for this bikini!  Time to pass it on, but I just love this girls little body.  So cute and chubby.

The seagulls were a big hit.  I'm sure the locals thought we were stupid for actually taking bread to the beach designated for feeding seagulls, but the kids had sooo much fun chasing and feeding the seagulls.  At Sea World I saw a seagull swoop down and steal some food right off of a woman's plate!

Okay. Belly shot.  This pregnancy I am getting way fatter WAY faster.  Blah!    Good thing I was so sick the first four months.  Now it feels out of control.  I have to reign my appetite back in .  And I like treats and Diet Coke again.  Crap!

Riley is now not afraid to act silly. He does wierd things all the time, like in this pic.  I'm glad he has loosened up:)  He is 7, and I would describe some of his behavior as annoying, but he thinks he is funny and that makes me smile!  I love watching him try to be cool.....just gotta love him through it :)
We found some cool rocks at the North end of Pacific Beach.  We were there in the evening near sunset, and it became obvious that the tide was beginning to come in.
Same rocky area.
Malia telling me a secret.  She shares a LOT of them these days.
Nice family pic on Pacific Beach.  We enjoyed walking along the beach.  Chilly though!

We watched the sunset, up to the very last second!  I really enjoyed that.

Very blurry, but you get the idea.  Ben and Riley playing in the sand.

This girl is snuggly!  I love it.  She likes to come up and put her face next to  mine or Ben's face and rub her head against our head.  It's similar to the way a cat snuggle against a leg.

Look at those cuties!  I enjoyed my place in the beach chair.

Can't you just hear the baywatch music???

Riley threatening to throw sand.  He thinks he is soooo funny : )   I love his little 7 year old body!  And I'm actually surprised he felt comfortable enough to take his shirt off.  We've been trying for years to get him to relax with that!

Running around in the surf.  They probably had the very most fun running from waves.

Buried int he pit Ben dug.  We left them there for a few hours while we went on a date.  Handy!

Cute how Malia is holding Ben's hand, and Riley is off frolicking.

At the rocky area.  Riley enjoyed going out on the rocks.  I had to rescue him once the tide started to come in.

We did walk out on this pier once.  But it was smelly and creaky.  Malia with another pose!

So this is the one Vegas picture.  We stayed at Excalibur, and the kids got to swim for about and hour before we had to check out.  I'm glad they got some pool time.  The hotel we stayed at in San Diego had a pool, but the heater for it was broke the whole time we were there and it was freezing cold.  As much as the kids love pools, it was a real bummer.  But the nice thing was the beach was a VERY short walk to the beach.  And our evening walking the Vegas strip was interesting.  Lot's of crazies out and about, but the lights at the Bellagio were fun.

San Diego - Sea World!

We went to Sea World in San Diego the last week of February.  Exactly one year before we went to Disneyland.  February is a good time to get the heck out of freezing Utah!  Here are some of the Sea World Pics.  Why is it so hard to narrow the pictures down?  We went to Sea World 3 of the 5 days we were in San Diego.  By the third day, that was PLENTY!  But we are big fans of this place.

Hard to see faces, but...Riley is doing his fake exasperated face which he thinks is funny.  And Malia started her posing and wierd face pulling just in time for vacation pics!

Sesame Street Bay of Play at Sea World....quit a fun little area.

I made my family see this show 3 times.  I think it was called Horizens or something like that.  It involved lots of dolphins and some pilot whales, and birds and amazing acrobatic people in costume.  I LOVED it!  Ben thinks it's funny, but the show gave me goosebumps several times.  Can't deny the goosebumps!

I got to sit out the rides, but as much as I love rides I actually enjoyed relaxing a little on my own.

Another wierd Malia face and pose :)  These kids loved the Bat Rays.  Malia was like the Bat Ray whisperer!  She and I spent a lot of time in this area while Riley and Ben went on a nearby roller coaster several times.

The killer whales are awesome!  The shows that involve them don't have any in water interactions between the trainers and whales so the show is more boring than I remember as a kid, when the trainers would ride the whales.  I love this pic of Riley and Malia.  They are soooooo cute!  And this may be the only normal face Malia pulled.

They rode this little ride together.  It was fun to watch them once the ride got going, and them having the time of their lives.  Malia again is doing a wierd smile!  She cracked us up.  Thank goodness Riley has the good smile down.
I convinced these three to go on this ride, told them they wouldn't get THAT wet.  Well.......

This is what they thought of me after the ride.  Guess they got a little more wet than I expected.  Ha!

This fish was HUGE!  And it wouldn't just swim by...it would hang out in one place.

The Bayside Skyride at Sea World.  Kind of fun.  Kind of.

Same ride.

More quality Bat Ray time. Love them bat rays!

Blurry, but these are two killer whales swimming by.  No they are not mating.

Cheeeeesy!  Yes we are all equally into kid stuff, including posing with large furry characters.  I guess having kids will do that to you.
Just a cool killer whale pic.  The end!
